Still’s Disease

Still’s Disease refers to a form of arthritis. These kind of arthritis are a part of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. The disease is named after the famous British physician Sir George Frederic Still. Though commonly diagnosed among children the disease in some occasion can take place in the adults. These kind of Still’s Disease are known as adult onset Still’s Disease.

What is Still’s Disease

Still’s Disease is a kind of juvenile idiopathic arthritis. In this kind of disease yu can have high temperature and rashes. This kind of arthritis though found mostly in children sometimes can be found in adults. The form of this disease that can be found in adults are known as AOSD and it was described by Bywaters in the year 1971. the cause of this disease still remains unknown. The scientists have several theories about the cause of Still’s Disease. According to some Still’s Disease is the result of micro bacterial infection. According to some scientists the disease is more secure to be autoimmune.

Symptoms of Still’s Disease

The patients who suffer from Still’s Disease usually have problems in both side of the body. The patient might suffer from high fever that can go up to 104° F. he or she can also have extreme fatigue. There can also be askin rash in salmon color. The rash is however, non-itching. The patient can also have pain all over the body. Muscle pain, severe joint pain and joint damage are some of the symptoms of Still’s Disease.
Diagnosis of Still’s Disease

diagniosis of Still’s Disease is very difficult because the disease is present in a variety of ways. The spiking fever and pain are the two most common forms of diagnosis of Still’s Disease. Persistent arthritis can also be seen as a important symptoms of the disease. The test that are conducted for rheumatoid arthritis are also conducted for diagnosis of the problem.

Treatments of Still’s Disease
there are several treatments of Still’s Disease. As the fever and the rashes go away after a certain time. All you need to do is to take care of the joint problems and inflammation.
You can use the non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs to get rid of the inflammation. All the drugs you take should be certified by a physician. Other wise the high or low doses can cause several other problems. So make sure that you have consulted a physician before you go for medication.
